CCDA Status UpdateTemporary Dormant PeriodThe California Career Development Association (CCDA) has entered a temporary dormant period as approved by the Board of Directors. This decision was made to preserve the organization while addressing leadership transition, organizational sustainability, and California nonprofit compliance matters. The Board believes this approach provides the best opportunity to protect the association's assets, records, and long-term future. What Does This Mean?During the dormant period:
Is CCDA Closing? No. The Board has not voted to dissolve the organization. CCDA remains an active nonprofit corporation and will continue to maintain the organization during this temporary dormant period while future leadership opportunities are explored. Why Is This Happening?Like many volunteer-led professional associations, CCDA has experienced leadership vacancies that have made it difficult to sustain normal operations. Rather than continue offering limited services without adequate leadership, the Board determined that temporarily pausing operations is the most responsible course of action while organizational matters are addressed. Future LeadershipThe future of CCDA will depend on individuals who are interested in serving in leadership roles and helping guide the next chapter of the association. Once new leadership is established, future leaders will determine the direction of the organization, including committee structures, membership services, professional development opportunities, conferences, and other programming. Membership QuestionsMembers who recently renewed their membership and would prefer not to maintain an active membership during this temporary pause may request a prorated refund within 30 days of the Board's announcement (7/1/2026) To request a refund, please contact CCDA and include the name and email address associated with your membership account. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to preserve the organization for future generations of career development professionals. |
